Review - Adventuremice: Mice on the Moon

We love the Adventuremice books (you can read reviews of the first two books - somehow book 3 Mice on the Ice escaped review - on the old blog here and here) so we were really excited to get our hands on their fourth adventure, this time seeing them zooming (albeit unintentionally) out into space...

When the Adventuremice get a message from Millie's uncle requesting their help, they dash straight there, only to find that he just wants to show them his latest invention - a rocket! But Pedro, Fledermaus and Millie find themselves stuck inside it when it blasts off - will they be the first mice on the moon?

With perfectly serendipitous timing, Peapod is learning about the moon landing at school at the moment (Lovely to take them a copy in and read them the first chapter for World Book Day too!) so he loved the "small step for a mouse..." jokes.

And as ever, we really loved Sarah McIntyre's detailed illustrations; Peapod was especially pleased to find the cross-section of the rocket, as the cross-section of the Mousebase in book one is his favourite (he was even more pleased to see that this one had a toilet too - Ms McIntyre, you know your readers well!!)

This is another super-fun adventure from Reeve and Mcintyre with all the vibrancy, imaginative twists and extras you'd expect from them - the solemn and sensible starmice having a party being my favourite  part of the whole thing I think, although we did love the minimoons A LOT too!!

Peapod says: "

If you haven't met the Adventuremice yet, we highly recommend them! Highly illustrated, short first chapter books they're perfect for those readers who still love a picture book but are ready fora  longer story. They're full of heart, teamwork and friendship while bringing us excitement, danger and lots of fun in each book too.

We can't wait to see where they end up next!
